Kimberly Vlaminck – Tattoo Face Stars Removed

Original Article: Belgian woman has 56 star tattoos removed from face

Kimberly VlaminckSo the deal is some 19 year old Belgian girl went into a tattoo parlor asking for 3 little star tattoos to be placed near her eye. Long story short, she fell asleep and when she woke up, the tattoo artist had tattooed 56 little stars on her face. When she got home, her dad freaked out. Something sounds fishy. Well the truth is this young lady asked for 56 little stars to be tattooed on her face, but when she went home and her dad freaked out, she came up with this story on how she fell asleep in an effort to cover her butt.

Within a year or so after getting the stars, Kimberly Vlaminck began the process of having them removed and today is free and clear to start all over.

Kimberly Vlaminck shot into headlines around the world back in 2009 when she walked out of a tattoo parlor with 56 stars tattooed on the left side of her face. At the time, the 19 year-old-Belgian teenager lied to her parents and the media about the tattoo. According to her initial story, she had asked her local tattooist, Rouslan Toumaniantz, for 3 stars near her eyes and then somehow fell asleep while being tattooed and woke up with 56 stars. At the time she said, “It is terrible for me. I cannot go out on to the street. I look like a freak.” On June 1, 2013, the UK’s MailOnline reported that the star-struck teen had outgrown her tattoo and this week underwent her final laser tattoo removal treatment.

The truth behind 56 star face tattoos

A week after getting the tats, Vlaminck admitted the truth about the constellation of stars tattooed on her face. The 56 star tattoo was exactly what she asked for, but when her father saw it he was so upset she started to fabricate a new story.

“I asked for 56 stars and initially adored them. But when my father saw them, he was furious. So I said I fell asleep and that the tattooist had made a mistake.” – Daily News 2009

Face tattoos removed

Vlaminck started to have the tattooed stars removed from her face back in 2010, just a year after getting them. She has gradually undergone nine laser treatments to have the stars removed. The Belgian woman described the process as “very painful.” She did it to regain her original look at a cost some sources have said cost more than $13,600.

Vlaminck had originally threatened to sue Toumaniantz for the cost of laser removal of the tattoos, but then admitted she had asked for all 56. Toumaniantz has admitted he has no hard feelings because all the publicity has expanded his business. Since then he has asked all of his customers to give written consent before they get in the chair.
